Dr. Jason Jacobsen

Dr. Jacobsen is currently the managing DVM of Oswego Animal Hospital. He has been working in Veterinary Medicine since 2003. His primary areas of interest are teaching new veterinarians' skills he has learned over the years and watching those who have learned perform these skills, especially in Small Animal Surgery and Orthopedics. Dr. Jacobsen completed his undergraduate at the University of Illinois Animal Science program in 2000 and then went on to get his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2003. He is a member of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA), the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Dr. Jacobsen says that veterinary medicine is a very satisfying career for him and he is fortunate to be able to continue to help keep people and their pets safe and happy.

A fun fact about Dr. Jacobsen is that he enjoys wildlife conservation and spending time with his wife, Donna, as well as his kids, Larkin and Reid. When he isn’t in the hospital helping his patients, he is hunting, fishing, and golfing. Of course, Dr. Jacobsen, being an animal lover, has many pets! Marley the 8-year-old Male Labrador retriever, Penny the Corgi who is 3 years old, and his hunting dog Tessa who is a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever. Not only does he have 3 dogs, there is 1 horse, a red-tail boa, 2 geckos, 2 rats, a Guinea pig, and fish.  Typical household of animals for a veterinary family.
